New Delhi, April 11 -- A minor fire broke out on an escalator at Terminal-3 of Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport on Thursday evening, officials said, adding that the blaze was quickly doused.
Smoke was observed in the area for a brief period; however, no injuries to any individual or damage in the vicinity was reported.
According to police, the incident took place around 5.30 pm.
Deputy commissioner of police (IGI) Usha Rangnani said, "A minor fire occurred in the rubber component of an escalator in the Domestic airport area, near the food court. The fire was quickly doused."
