New Delhi, Nov. 22 -- The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has imposed penalties on the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for alleged sanitation lapses and violations of Stage-III norms under the Graded Response Action Plan (Grap) along its construction stretch on MB Road. Under Grap rules, construction material must be covered and water sprinkling carried out regularly to prevent dust pollution.
In its response, DMRC said that only 6.58km of the MB Road stretch falls under its Phase-IV Aerocity-Tughlakabad corridor. It added that the area lacks footpaths and consists largely of kutcha surfaces where local residents routinely dump debris.
