New Delhi, April 16 -- In a step towards setting up Delhi's fifth and largest waste-to-energy plant in northwest Delhi's Narela Bawana, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Tuesday signed a tripartite agreement to shift the high-tension transmission lines at the site. The plant, which will process 3,000 tonnes of daily waste, is expected to be operationalised by August 2026.

"To facilitate the project, it is necessary to clear a portion of the site where three 400 KV transmission lines are currently passing.
