New Delhi, March 4 -- A clear blue sky and a variable wind direction meant Monday was a day of contrasts for Delhi, with the city's minimum temperature dropping sharply to settle in single digits, even as the day's high crossed the 30-degree mark, translating into a difference of more than 20 notches in the day's maximum and minimum.

However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in the coming days, the north Indian plains will record cold, northwestely winds, which will likely lead to a dip in the maximum temperature in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) from Tuesday onwards.
