New Delhi, Aug. 23 -- Large parts of north Delhi faced power outages for several hours on Friday evening after a sudden supply drop, affecting over 800,000 consumers, officials said. The disruption began around 6.30pm, when a load drop of 550 MW was reported from 220 kV grids. Areas hit included Rohini, Shalimar Bagh, Pitampura, Keshavpuram, Ashok Vihar, Civil Lines, Shakti Nagar, Model Town, Wazirpur, Rani Bagh, Haiderpur, Bhalswa, Badli, Jahangirpuri and nearby localities, power distribution company Tata Power-DDL said. "Our teams were immediately pressed into action," the discom said. By 9:30 pm, most connections had been restored, though about 11,000 homes were still awaiting supply.htc
