India, June 15 -- Minnesota State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark Hortman, were shot and killed in their home early Saturday in what Governor Tim Walz condemned as a "politically motivated assassination." The attack, part of a deadly rampage by a man impersonating a police officer, also left State Senator John Hoffman and his wife wounded at their nearby residence in Champlin.

Authorities have launched a statewide manhunt for 57-year-old Vance Luther Boelter, who remains at large and is considered "armed and dangerous." The FBI has offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to his capture or conviction.
