IMPHAL, Feb. 23 -- Manipur chief minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Sunday called on Union home minister Amit Shah in New Delhi, amid speculation of the cabinet expansion in the state. It was Singh's first meeting with Shah after he took over as the chief minister on February 4. He was accompanied by two deputy chief ministers, Losii Dikho and Nemcha Kipgen. The three leaders discussed with Shah the steps taken up by the new government to ease ethnic tensions in the state, including many outreach programmes, officials aware of the details said. Shah assured them all possible help from the Centre to bring peace and normalcy in the strife-torn state and for the overall development and progress of Manipur, officials said.
