Mumbai, May 19 -- India's table tennis star Manika Batra is going through a bit of a lean run of late, but began her World Table Tennis Championships campaign in positive fashion with a straight-games win over Nigerian Fatimo Bello in the singles first round on Sunday. Manika took just 23 minutes to breeze past Bello 4-0 (11-5, 11-6, 11-8, 11-2) at the Qatar University to enter the Round of 64. Also advancing to the singles second round was India men's singles No.1 Manav Thakkar, who had some more work to do against New Zealand's Timothy Choi before coming out a 4-1 (11-3, 11-8, 6-11, 11-7, 14-12) winner.
