New Delhi, Nov. 9 -- The crime branch of Delhi Police on Saturday said they have arrested a man, who was on the run for the past 16 years in a brutal murder and beheading case that was registered at the Bindapur police station in southwest Delhi.
The alleged accused, Ashik Ali, along with his associate, Banarasi Lal, killed Lal's relative Harish Chand alias Babloo, severed his head, stuffed his headless body in an iron box that they dumped in a secluded place in Bindapur in January 2009. A case of murder was registered after the body was found in the box on January 9 that year. While Lal was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment in the case, Ali was absconding.
