India, Dec. 24 -- The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) has appointed Mahendra Harpalkar as its new secretary after the post remained vacant for over two months. The appointment was made by the general administration department on Tuesday for a two-year deputation.
The post became vacant following the completion of the tenure of former secretary Suvarna Kharat. This vacancy severely affected the functioning of the constitutional body, resulting in delays in examination results, interview schedules, and recruitment processes.
