LUCKNOW, Jan. 29 -- Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday announced a judicial probe into the Mahakumbh-2025 stampede that left 30 dead and 60 injured on Mauni Amavasya. A three-member judicial commission has been tasked with submitting its report within a month.
The state government has also announced financial assistance of Rs.25 lakh for the families of each deceased. "The incident is not just heartrending but also a lesson for us," said Yogi, appearing visibly emotional.
