Ludhiana, March 27 -- In an unprecedented move, mayor Inderjit Kaur ordered all municipal officials to leave the Finance and Contract Committee (F&CC) meeting, leaving only elected representatives to review key proposals behind closed doors, on Wednesday.
MC commissioner, mayor, senior deputy mayor and deputy mayor were present. The F&CC meeting was held at the mayor's house near Rose Garden, with an agenda listing 160 proposals related to municipal governance. The session, which began around 11 am, included senior officials from departments such as buildings and roads (B&R), operations & maintenance (O&M), property tax, and Tehbazaari.
