Ludhiana, Feb. 13 -- The district has seen a remarkable shift towards solar energy in the past year, with 771 households making the switch to solar power. This surge in adoption is largely attributed to the launch of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana on February 13 last year that encouraged residents to install rooftop solar panels.

The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) reported that Rs.3.3 crore in subsidies have been disbursed so far, helping homeowners transition to solar energy. Under the scheme, subsidies range from Rs.30,000 to Rs.78,000, depending on the capacity of the solar panels installed.
