For centuries, healthcare has been reactive-diagnosing and treating disease after it occurs and treating people like the assembly line of the automobile industry. But before the end of this decade, the very foundation of healthcare will undergo a total change. We will move from reaction to prediction, from treating illness to pre-emoting it, and from biology and chemistry to mathematics as the dominant force shaping medicine.
