Rae Bareli/Amethi, May 3 -- The constituencies Amethi and Rae Bareli waited deep into the night on Thursday for the Congress to announce its candidates for the two seats but to no avail, amid indications that the Gandhi family was yet to finally decide on contesting with less than 24 hours to go before nominations close.
Party leaders indicated that all preparations were done for the filing of nomination on Friday, the last day of submitting papers for the fifth phase of the general elections on May 20. "We have already requested that both Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi should contest the poll from the two seats.
