India, March 26 -- India has been ranked the 66th safest country for travel in 2025 in the world in a new ranking report released on Wednesday, ranking higher than the United States.

The survey report, compiled and released by Serbian crowdsourced data platform Numbero, gave the country a safety index score of 55.7.

The United States has got 89th position in the list.

Neighbouring Pakistan has been ranked a little better than their arch-rivals, though not by much. It is ranked just above India as the 65th safest country with an index score of 56.3. Palestine, despite the ongoing deadly conflict with Israel in Gaza, also ranked better than India at number 61.
