nEW dELHI, June 6 -- Lieutenant governor VK Saxena on Wednesday granted approval for the exemption of a 2.16-hectare area for transplantation or cutting of 27 trees, for a flyover project at the Nand Nagri to Gagan Cinema junction in northeast Delhi.
Officials said the nod was given to the proposal submitted by the PWD under the Delhi Preservation of Trees Act, 1994. "The proposal already cleared by the environment department, chief secretary, environment minister and CM Gupta will address the long pending issue of traffic jam and commuting in the area. The project is set to encompass an elevated corridor, and drainage systems," officials said. htc
