Patiala, Oct. 22 -- Punjab has recorded a 75% decline in stubble burning cases compared to the corresponding period last year, according to official data, with experts attributing this to delayed paddy harvests due to untimely rainfall. The state reported 45 new farm fires on Monday, taking the total to 353 this season. According to data, only 33% of the nearly 3.1 million hectares under paddy cultivation have been harvested so far.
