India, March 27 -- The closures at large, 27 of which are permanent, come as Kohl's continues restructuring efforts. The first of two closures that the retailer first announced in January are part of the retailer's strategy to revamp operations after slumping sales and changes made within the company.
The Wisconsin-based retailer has listed March 29 as the official closing date for these locations on their respective store web pages.
Kohl's is also implementing major corporate changes, including leadership shake-ups, a 10% reduction in its corporate workforce, and discontinuing Amazon returns at select locations. The company is set to close an e-commerce fulfilment centre in San Bernardino, California, in May.
