Ahmedabad, April 10 -- Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday hailed Supreme Court's landmark judgment laying out specific timelines for governors to act on bills as it struck Tamil Nadu governor RN Ravi's decision to reserve 10 re-enacted state bills for presidential assent, further noting the verdict is a "tight slap on the face of the NDA government and the governors".

In his inaugural speech at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) session in Ahmedabad, Kharge said that the judgment will not be confined to Tamil Nadu and that its impact will be felt in Karnataka, Telangana Himachal Pradesh and West Bengal - all non-NDA ruled states.
