India, June 19 -- The legendary Kapil Dev, on Wednesday, admitted he was surprised by the decision to rename the Pataudi Trophy into the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, calling it "strange." The call was taken by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), who rechristened the Pataudi Trophy - awarded to the winner of the Test series hosted by England against India - as the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, in honour of the two legends of the game.

The Patudi Trophy, named in honour of the legendary Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi, was instituted in 2007 as the prize for the winner of the Test series in England.
