India, March 13 -- Actor Ranya Rao, currently in the custody of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), has reportedly admitted during interrogation that she learned gold smuggling techniques from YouTube videos.

The actor, who is the stepdaughter of Karnataka DGP K Ramachandra Rao, was apprehended at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport with gold biscuits strapped to her body.

According to India Today report, investigators revealed that she had been receiving phone calls from unknown foreign numbers for about two weeks before she embarked on her smuggling attempt.

According to her statement, she was instructed to collect the gold at Dubai Airport's Terminal 3 and deliver it in Bengaluru, the report added.
