New Delhi, Aug. 28 -- India's domestic air passenger traffic declined 2.94% year-on-year in July to 12.6 million, marking the first drop since the pandemic, which coincided with the weeks that followed one of the country's deadliest air crashes in three decades. Indian airlines carried 12.9 million passengers on domestic routes in July, 2024. The last such drop was in February 2022, during the outbreak of the Omicron variant, when traffic contracted 1.68%.
