New Delhi, March 11 -- The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) approached the Delhi high court on Monday for early relief regarding the student elections, university officials said. The university also pleaded with the court to "direct the protesting JNU students' union (JNUSU) office bearers and other students to immediately vacate."
Monday marked the fifth day of protests by the JNUSU demanding the immediate release of the election schedule. University officials said a Supreme Court-appointed observer had submitted a report on April 1, 2024, after last year's elections. JNU filed an application on February 15, 2025, seeking clarifications on inconsistencies in the Lyngdoh Committee Report.
