New Delhi, March 9 -- Days after Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) removed Thiruvananthapuram as an entrance exam centre, triggering backlash from south India-based aspirants, the university added Kozhikode as a centre on Saturday.
JMI's 2025-26 prospectus, released Thursday, had removed the city as a centre, which was the only centre in South India last year. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor criticised the decision, posting on X, "JMI has removed Thiruvananthapuram... the only such centre in South India! The city saw at least 550 students taking exams. An inexplicable decision... doesn't (JMI) want South Indian students?"
