India, Sept. 26 -- James Comey was indicted by a federal grand jury on Thursday. The former FBI Director is facing charges of making false statements and obstruction of justice. This comes days after President Donald Trump appeared to urge his attorney general, Pam Bondi, to prosecute him.

"No one is above the law. Today's indictment reflects this Department of Justice's commitment to holding those who abuse positions of power accountable for misleading the American people. We will follow the facts in this case," Bondi wrote on X, platform formerly known as Twitter.
