Bhopal, March 25 -- The Indore bench of the Madhya Pradesh high court on Monday said the Jain community remained within the scope of the Hindu Marriage Act despite getting minority status in 2014, setting aside a previous ruling of a family court that refused to accept a divorce plea of a Jain couple.

The HC was hearing the plea of a software engineer against the February 8 order of the Indore family court. The court refused to accept the application for divorce by mutual consent of the 37-year-old software engineer and his 35-year-old wife, both Jains. P10
