New Delhi, March 24 -- The apex body for Pasmanda Muslims wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, urging him to involve Isro in the moon sighting process for Eid, and said that due to "varying regional and sect-based moon sighting methods, Indian Muslims often observe Eid on different days, leading to unnecessary divisions".

In the letter, All India Pasmanda Muslim Mahaz chief Shariq Adeeb Ansari wrote, "I write to request your kind intervention in facilitating a unified Eid celebration for Indian Muslims by involving Isro in the official moon sighting process."
