India, May 24 -- Cardiac issues continue to be a significant public health concern in India. It is the leading cause behind a substantial portion of mortality and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs). According to a recent report from a health care insurance aggregator, heart-related claims have increased from 9-12% in 2019-2020 to a whopping 18-20% in 2023-2024, reflecting a growing prevalence of cardiac issues, which are often considered a central part of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs).
