New Delhi, Feb. 19 -- Interpol has issued a red notice against Mohammad Shoeb Khan, a Libya-based Islamic State terrorist from Maharashtra's Aurangabad, people familiar with the matter said on Tuesday, adding that he is wanted by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Shoeb Khan, 50, had allegedly tried to recruit youngsters from Aurangabad area for the IS for which he, along with another accused Mohammad Zoheb Khan, created a WhatsApp group. Zoheb Khan was arrested by the federal anti-terror agency in February last year but Shoeb reportedly had fled India. Both have been charge-sheeted by the NIA in July 2024.
