Bengaluru, Aug. 5 -- A report recommending internal reservations among Scheduled Castes in Karnataka has been submitted to chief minister Siddaramaiah, marking the next step in a long-running demand by various sub-castes for equitable access to state benefits.
The report, prepared by a commission headed by retired high court judge H.N. Nagmohan Das, spans 1,766 pages and is based on a survey conducted across the state. The state government said it covers more than 10.7 million individuals from 2.7 million SC households.
"There is a cabinet meeting on August 7 where we will present it and take a decision," CM Siddaramaiah said after receiving the report in Bengaluru on Sunday.HTC
