New Delhi, April 15 -- With the arrest of three people, a trafficking gang has been busted in west Delhi's Uttam Nagar, police said, adding that a four-day old baby has also been rescued.
Police said the gang traffics babies from small towns and villages of Gujarat and Rajasthan and give them away to couples in Delhi-NCR. They are also suspected to be involved in trafficking of over 30 babies.
According to the police, the gang gets Rs.5-10 lakh for each baby.
The accused, Yasmin Nadeem, 30, Anjali Kumar, 36, and Jitender Rana, 47, were arrested on April 8.
Ankit Singh, DCP (Dwarka) said they received a tip-off about a gang in Uttam Nagar. On reaching the spot, they found a baby locked inside a car, crying for help.
