India, March 5 -- Indian high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), those with assets exceeding $10 million, are expected to allocate 22-25% of their wealth to prime residential real estate, with 80-90% of their holdings concentrated within the country, said Vivek Rathi, National Director of Research at Knight Frank India, during the launch of the Knight Frank Wealth Report 2025, as he spoke to HT.com

The Wealth Report noted that the number of HNIs in India rose by 6% in 2024 to 85,698 from 80,686 in the preceding year and that the number of billionaires has moved up to 191. It noted that the number of HNWIs is expected to rise to 93,753 by 2028, reflecting India's expanding wealth landscape.
