Bengaluru, Nov. 29 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday presented India's national security doctrine as an extension of the Bhagavad Gita's teachings, arguing that the country's modern response to terrorism and external threats draws from a long civilisational understanding of duty, justice and deterrence. Addressing a gathering in Udupi, he said the government's recent actions, including Operation Sindoor, reflects a strategic shift toward firm retaliation. "The Gita teaches us that to establish peace and truth, it is sometimes necessary to end those who commit atrocities."P10
