India's manufacturing PMI eases to a three-month low in May
New Delhi, June 3 -- India's manufacturing activity fell to a three-month low in May, with the HSBC India Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) falling to 57.6 for May as growth in output and new orders slowed, the index, which is compiled by S&P Global, showed on Monday. PMI for may fell from 58.2 in April and was the lowest since February, when it was 56.3.
To be sure, the reading remained above the 50-mark, which indicates expansion over the last month and was also above the long-run average of 54.1. The index has remained above 50 for over three years now.
