New Delhi, March 5 -- True gender equality is yet to be fully achieved in India, Supreme Court judge KV Vishwanathan said on Tuesday, adding that men have advantages which are not available for women.

Delivering the presidential address at an event organised by the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) to celebrate International Women's Day in the Delhi high court, justice Vishwanathan cited statistics regarding the participation of women in the labour force in India, asserting that at 37%, it is much lower than the global average of 47%.
