India, Feb. 15 -- India has slashed import duty on bourbon whiskey to 50% and other whiskies to 100% from 150%, sending out a positive signal to the Trump administration. A notification to the effect, dated February 13, came ahead of PM Modi's talks with US President Donald Trump. According to the India-US joint statement put out after the meeting, the US " welcomed India's recent actions to reduce tariffs on US products, including bourbon, motorcycles, ICT products, and metals, as well as measures to improve market access for American agricultural goods..."
