New Delhi, April 5 -- The Indian government has begun talks with representatives of industry to draw up a package to boost domestic manufacturing and promote exports in an effort to counter the blow from the 26% additional tariffs announced by US President Donald Trump on April 2, people aware of the development said. "Based on their feedback, appropriate policy measures will be taken soon," said one person familiar with the discussions. Separately, commerce minister Piyush Goyal, Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman and two other ministers discussed the tariffs issue on Friday. P18
