India, Canada FTA talks may resume post-US deal
New delhi, May 29 -- India and Canada may resume free trade talks after New Delhi seals an interim deal with the US as key members of the Indian negotiating team are fully occupied in finalising the first tranche of the Bilateral Trade Agreement with that country, people aware of the matter said.
Resumption of free trade talks after a pause of about 20 months is "highly expected" with a thaw in bilateral relationship between India and Canada after Prime Minister Mark Carney assumed power earlier this year, the people added requesting anonymity.
