New Delhi, July 4 -- Captain Shubman Gill's record-breaking maiden double century guided India to a massive 587 in their first innings before the pacers struck to reduce England to 77/3 at the end of the second day of the Edgbaston Test on Thursday.
Gill, who scored 269 with 30 boundaries and three sixes, received support from all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja (89) and Washington Sundar (42) in partnerships of 203 and 144 for the sixth and seventh wickets respectively as the visitors set a formidable first innings score. P17
