Patna, March 4 -- Bihar finance minister Samrat Choudhary on Monday presented the 2025-26 budget in the assembly with an outlay of Rs.3.17 lakh crore, an increase of Rs.38,169 crore or 13.69% from the previous year, making a slew of announcements focused on farmers, women and youth in the last budget of the Nitish Kumar government before the state goes to polls later this year.
Choudhary, who is also deputy chief minister, said the budget is inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guidance and CM Nitish Kumar's leadership. "Bihar has come a long way, leaving behind years of anarchy. But it still has a lot more to do," he said.
