New Delhi, March 27 -- The in-house inquiry into the controversy surrounding Delhi high court judge justice Yashwant Varma has been expedited with an aim to conclude proceedings within a week, people aware of the matter said on Wednesday. Justice Varma, under scrutiny after cash was reportedly found at his Delhi residence, is expected to meet the investigating committee Thursday, they added.

He consulted lawyers on Wednesday, including senior advocates Siddharth Agarwal and Arundhati Katju, to prepare his defence, the people said, adding that the judge has also reached out to another senior counsel for representation.
