New Delhi, Sept. 13 -- The monsoon could start withdrawing from September 15, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said, a date that would be the earliest in 10 years if forecasts come to bear.
Last year, the monsoon started withdrawing on September 23, and in 2023, on September 25. The department said that conditions are now favourable for southwest monsoon winds to start pulling back from West Rajasthan, marking a process that will take over a month to complete. The monsoon normally begins withdrawing around September 17 and completely withdraws from the country by October 15. P11
