India, Sept. 2 -- The IMD issued a flash flood warning on Tuesday in parts of Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh amid continuing heavy rainfall.

"IMD Flood Alert! In the next 24 hours, moderate to high risk of flash floods is expected over parts of Uttarakhand, J&K, Ladakh & Himachal Pradesh," the weather agency posted on X.

According to the weather agency, the districts at risk include:

A flood alert has been issued for Jammu as continuous heavy rainfall has raised the water level of the rivers in the region.

According to officials, the water level of the River Chenab has increased after water was discharged from the BHEP reservoir.
