India, June 19 -- The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a Post Graduate Diploma in Tribal Studies (PGDTRBS). The university said this course is "aimed at fostering a comprehensive understanding of tribal communities, their cultures, and their role in India's socio-economic fabric."

The programme will be offered through Open and Distance Learning or ODL mode. The programme has been developed in collaboration with tribal experts from reputed national research institutes and universities, IGNOU said.
