India, June 24 -- India's wicket-keeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who has had an impressive outing at Headingley, scoring two centuries in the opening Test match against England, was handed an official reprimand on Monday for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the match. Pant was punished for his outburst at the on-field umpire during England's first innings with the bat.

The India vice-captain was found to have breached Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to "showing dissent at an Umpire's decision during an International Match." He was also handed one demerit point, which was added to his disciplinary record. It was his first offence in 24 months.
