In its first meeting conducted after 10 years, the irrigation and flood control (I&FC) department approved a number of projects, including a the construction of service roads along the Najafgarh drain at a cost of over Rs.400 crores, which, I&FC minister Parvesh Verma, who chaired the meeting, said, could become one of the most important mobility corridors of Delhi.

The I&FC's 39th board meeting on Wednesday approved the construction of two-lane service roads on both banks of the Najafgarh drain, from Chhawla Bridge and Basaidarapur to Jhatikra, at a cost of Rs.453.95 crore.
