Prayagraj, March 30 -- A 50-year-old civil engineer of the Indian Air Force died after he was shot at inside his official residence in the high-security Air Force Colony Bamrauli area of Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, police officials said, adding that preliminary investigation hinted at personal enmity for the crime.

The deceased, identified as SN Mishra who was the civil engineer at the Central Air Command's North Zone, was attacked through the window of his room while his wife and son were asleep in other rooms of their Engineers Colony house inside the Air Force Station, Puramufti Station House Officer (SHO) Manoj Singh said.
