India, Jan. 8 -- South Korean automakers, Hyundai and Kia, witnessed substantial growth in electric passenger vehicle sales in CY'25. Both the brands witnessed growth of more than 500 per cent, with the former witnessing a growth of 635.8 per cent while the latter witnessed a growth of 557.83 per cent.
Hyundai sold approximately 6,726 electric passenger vehicles in India in 2025, compared to 914 electric passenger vehicles sold in 2024. This came as a result of the launch of the electric iteration of its best-selling SUV, the Creta. In addition to that, the premium electric SUV from the stables of Hyundai, the Ioniq 5, was offered with heavy discounts, further contributing to the substantial sales growth.
