Shimla, March 27 -- The Himachal government on Wednesday tabled two bills aimed at tackling the drug menace and increased organised crime, in the assembly during the ongoing budget session.

The Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led Congress government introduced the Himachal Pradesh Anti-Drug Bill, 2025, that provides higher punishment to government officials involved in the illicit trade and peddlers selling drugs to minors.

The bill introduced by health minister Dhani Ram Shandil is aimed at curbing drug abuse through legal measures and promoting rehabilitation and reintegration of addicts.

The bill provides for establishing a state fund to finance de-addiction, rehabilitation, preventive education and livelihood support for individuals.
